Riniki Bhuyan Sharma

Riniki Bhuyan Sharma is an Indian entrepreneur, who is the founder and managing director of Pride East Entertainment, the largest media house in the North East of India. It includes the news channels News Live & Northeast East Live, entertainment channels Ramdhenu, Rang and Indradhanu, as well as one Assamese newspaper Niyamiya Barta.

Riniki manages the Golden Threads of Assam, the platform to showcase the state’s precious silk to the national and international audience. It helps to preserve Assam’s royal silk, Muga, and at the same time empowering the weavers of this rare silk, which is another project close to her heart. She runs Sneha Bandhan, a home for young orphaned / abandoned children under the Kailash Nath Sarma Trust; and Udayachal, a school with professionally trained teachers for specially-abled children under the Jadhav Chandra Memorial trust.

She is married to Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Assam.
