Priyanka Chaturvedi

Priyanka Chaturvedi is an Indian politician and a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Indian Parliament, representing the state of Maharashtra. She is a member of the Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) party.

Chaturvedi completed her schooling from St. Joseph’s Convent School, Mumbai and later pursued a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai. She also holds a Masters in Communications Studies from the University of Pune.

Prior to entering politics, Chaturvedi had a successful career in media and communications. She worked with several leading media houses such as NDTV and Times Now as a journalist and news anchor. She also served as the National Spokesperson for the Indian National Congress party from 2014 to 2019, where she actively campaigned for the party and its leaders.

In 2019, Chaturvedi resigned from the Indian National Congress party and joined the Shiv Sena party. She contested the 2022 Rajya Sabha elections from Maharashtra on a Shiv Sena ticket and was elected as a Member of Parliament.

Chaturvedi has been a vocal advocate for women’s rights, gender equality, and social justice. She has also been actively involved in environmental issues and has been working towards promoting sustainable development in her constituency. In addition to her political work, Chaturvedi is also a published author and has written several articles on politics and social issues.
