Ideas For India conference

Date:

May 11, 2023 to May 12, 2023

Location:

  • Royal Lancaster London Hotel

About

The second edition of the ‘Ideas For India’ conference will bring together business, industry and policy leaders from the UK, Europe and India to discuss the next wave of India’s growth as an economy and a nation.

This event is the place to engage in high level discussions on the New India. As India grows, the conference will be focused on driving new trade and investment conversations about India, and showcasing the huge economic opportunity the country offers to foreign investors.

Until recently, business, foreign policy and social issues occupied distinct spaces. The convergence of dialogue, engagement and collaboration between business, government, civil society and Indian diaspora has blurred the lines between each.

Our conference operates at their convergence, helping drive conversations in a unique, inclusive and focused forum.

We have senior Ministerial attendance from both the UK and India, with 500+ guests over the two days, including over 100 from India.

400+ attendees. 100+ foreign delegates. 10+ countries represented.

Part of the inaugural India Week.

10+ sessions. 2 days.

Why attend

India is vast and heterogenous. So everything about India, and its polar opposite, can be true in unison. If you’re interested in the direction India is taking and see its importance on a global stage, this is the conference for you.

“The country will provide a compelling opportunity [in the coming decade] in a world starved of growth. The most important change domestically is the shift in policy approach away from redistribution and towards boosting investment and growth.” Source: Financial Times.

“India’s biggest conglomerate, Tata Sons, is taking the world’s biggest bet on India, investing $90bn domestically.” Source: The Economist

“Yet setting aside its nationalist rhetoric, the Modi government’s approach and objectives abroad are remarkably similar to its predecessors.” Source: The Economist.

“The intimidation of India’s 200 million Muslims is hiding in plain sight.” Source: The Guardian.

Some of our proposed Agenda topics:

  • India’s growth as a major geopolitical power
  • The world’s economic growth engine
  • India’s coming decade of economic outperformance
  • India’s digital stack: Driving digital innovation and inclusivity
  • The next big global sports market
  • Media freedom and the fourth estate
  • Leading the world in renewable energy
  • Bilateral UK-India relations
  • State vs Centre: Policymaking challenges in India
