Ethics as the next frontier for AI leadership

November 24, 2025 | 07:30 - 09:45

About

The then-Prime Minister Rishi Sunak hosted the first AI summit in the UK in November 2023, with an invitation to the world’s leaders to attend. The event did a deep-dive into how we can ensure that AI can be adopted ethically and effectively – including in a way that respects data privacy, avoids bias and minimises misinformation.

Just over a year later, President Emmanuel Macron hosted the second such summit, with dozens of countries including France, China and India signed an agreement, pledging an “open”, “inclusive” and “ethical” approach to AI’s development. But the new Trump and Starmer administrations did not sign it.

Our breakfast roundtable will be an interactive discussion to explore the defining question of our time: as algorithms increasingly shape human choices, who ensures they reflect human conscience? The session will address the risks of unbridled AI – disinformation, bias, and erosion of truth – and highlight ethical frameworks and leadership actions to align technology with humanity.

It is organised in collaboration with the World Forum for Ethics in Business. The audience will be CEOs, entrepreneurs, investors, and senior leaders across tech, AI, business and policy, who are committed to values-driven growth and responsible innovation.

About the World Forum for Ethics in Business

Founded in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, WFEB has convened 100,000+ leaders across 80 countries – from heads of state and CEOs to ministers, civil society, and youth – to demonstrate that business can be both ethical and profitable. As WFEB approaches its 20th Anniversary, it is advancing three frontiers, including the ethics of AI (e.g., watermarking, bias audits, privacy-by-design, workforce transition plans — paired with independent certification), regenerative climate action (beyond net-zero toward circular and restorative models) and integrity in business (anti-corruption playbooks and ethical business hubs).

The WFEB is a registered public interest foundation (“fondation d’utilité publique” – N° 822.216.342) based in Belgium. The mandate of the Forum includes all manners of pursuing and establishing the indispensable ethical foundations of business in a globalised world. The World Forum for Ethics in Business holds a special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
