Case study: Micro incentives to reward achievement
The Great Indian Education Problem is that 58% of students cannot do simple division, 40% cannot read a simple English sentence and 25% cannot read a basic native language text. Parents do not engage in daily learning, donor funds do not reach the last mile, dynamic learning data is absent and simply switching to online delivery does not solve the affordability problem. This session provides the case study of Auro Scholar, which seeks to provide micro-incentives to students to learn. Achievement is rewarded by micro-payments. Sri Aurobindo Society’s wider work has already delivered teacher training to over 2.2m teachers, are strongly embedded in 22,000 CBSE schools with 8m students across 31 State Governments and Union Territories.
